Seed to Shelf: Integrated Pest Management and Organic Farming
The George A. Smathers Libraries is hosting a seminar “Seed to Shelf: Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Organic Farming as Sustainable Practices” on October 19, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Marston Science Library, room L107.
Assistant IPM director, Jennifer Gillett will speak about IPM as a sustainable approach to managing pests by combining biological, cultural, physical and chemical tools in a way that minimizes economic, health and environmental risks.
Danielle Treadwell, assistant professor for Horticultural Sciences, will talk and answer questions about the new UF Organic Farming major offered by the Horticultural Sciences department.
