OPS Weekend Circulation Supervisor
Pay Rate: $11.84/hr

Schedule: Friday, 4:00-8:00pm; Sat., 9:45am-6:00pm; Sun., 9:45am-2:00pm. Hours are non-negotiable.
Position is responsible for branch library service in the absence of full-time staff, and will be responsible for opening and closing the Education Library on weekends, and monitoring general security for patrons and staff. Provide general reference/directional information to patrons on library services and policies, usage of the library catalog and various databases, usage of the library equipment, including computers, printer/copier, scanners and microform copiers. Makes appropriate referrals to subject specialists, other library departments, and/or other libraries.
Weekend circulation supervisor duties include: supervise student assistants who work at the circulation desk and in the stacks; check books out to patrons, return books, check out reserves, shelve books and journals, shelf-read assigned sections and other duties as needed. Has working knowledge of ALEPH functions, especially pertaining to Circulation module. Creates and/or updates computer records for library material (books, periodicals, etc.) to allow for their general circulation.
Creates and/or updates library patron records as needed.
Reports any problems, or unusual situations, with patrons and/or integrated library systems to the Circulation Coordinator and/or University Police Department. Informs regular staff of facility problems so appropriate work orders may be submitted.
- Academic Library Circulation Experience;
- Good communication skills, detail oriented, works well with the public, capable of working independently, punctual and reliable;
- Must work set schedule of Friday, 4:00-8:00pm, Sat., 9:45am-6:00pm, Sun., 9:45am-2:00pm. Hours are non-negotiable.
- Previous UF Libraries experience;
- Supervisory experience in a public setting.
