Auxiliary Library Facility

The former Department of Transportation warehouse at 39th Avenue and Waldo Road was renovated from November to January to become the Library Auxiliary Facility (ALF). Most of the materials from Library West are now in this facility where they will be retrieved for patrons during construction and renovation. There are 150,000 linear feet of shelving -- enough to hold one and a half million volumes. There is also space for 150,000 reels of microfilm and one million microfiche cards. The story of the transformation is shown below through photos.
