*When an item in one of the above 7 categories is a RUSH item, do NOT place it on the binding shelf. Use a piggyback barcode, make a label for the item, and send it to the proper owning location ASAP. Rush items that do not fall within these categories requiring immediate Preservation attention should be brought directly to Preservation staff for review.

**Please add a purple slip to those items with errata as well.  

Occasionally, one of these items will arrive back in Processing with a note attached. The note will say that the item will not be bound at this time and to please make a call number (spine) label for it. Please make a label for the book and route it back to its owning location.

PLEASE NOTE: This Policy does not apply to Theses, Dissertations, or Special Projects.
