Each staff member is responsible for the processing of his/her returns.
- Complete the return letter using the template located on the Forms webpage. (Be sure to use the correct return address.)
- Make a copy of the return letter, the invoice, and any supporting documents. One copy should be included with the return material and the other copy should be placed in the "Returns" basket. Be sure to write the insurance number and invoice number on the return letter.
- Annotate all returns in the red three-ring binder labeled "Return Log" in the mailroom area.
- Insure for the total amount of the item(s). All domestic package returns should be insured unless under $100. For domestic returns under $100 use the UPS service, since packages under $100.00 are insured free of charge.
- If your return is for a foreign destination, consult instruction from the USPS Web site: http://www.usps.com/business/international/prepareaddress.htm
- Fill out the address label to be used for domestic mail or overseas mail. For more information visit: http://www.usps.com/business/shippingresources/welcome.htm
- Place packages that are ready for shipment either in out-going mail or on the UPS table for pickup.
