Biographical/Historical Note
Florida Blue Key was founded at the University of Florida in 1923 shortly before that year's homecoming celebration. It was conceived as a student leadership fraternity with an emphasis on service to the university and its constituencies. In 1924, Florida Blue Key was placed in charge of homecoming events and has organized every homecoming since then. Florida Blue Key is not affiliated with the national Blue Key fraternity.
Scope and Content
Manuscript Collection 83 contains records of Florida Blue Key including the original 1923 minutes of the organization. Also included are treasurer's reports, examinations, newsletters, records related to initiation, and material on Florida Blue Key events.
