Lawrence Mayo Anderson

Lawrence Mayo Anderson was the son of Captain Robert Sanders Anderson and Charity Frances (Brown) Anderson, along with his brother, James Thomas Anderson. In the Expedition record, his residence was listed as Hawkinsville, Georgia. He married Sarah Dixon in Bibb County, Georgia, in June 1894. He would have been 22 years old at the time of the Expedition. He was assigned to Mess No. 2.

Unable to locate sources definitively identifying Lawrence Mayo Anderson as the L.M. Anderson who participated in the Expedition. However, given that Lawrence Mayo had a brother with the initials J.M. (James Thomas) and that both lived and worked in the area around Hawkinsville, Georgia, for most of their lives, confidence is high.
