>Big Cypress

Big Cypress is a large swamp to the west of Miami and southeast of Fort Myers. The Expedition party traveled just north of Big Cypress as they moved east across the state. Today, the Everglades National Park is to the south and the Big Cypress Indian Reservation is to the north of Big Cypress National Preserve, which consists of 729,000 acres.
