Boat Landing

After the Expedition party departed Fort Shackleford and entered the Everglades they launched their boats from the "Indian landing" about 2.5 to 4 miles east of their camp. This was probably little more than a cleared slope of land at the water's edge, onto which the Seminoles could bring their canoes.
