Cape Florida

The Expedition party went with Captains Ned Pent and John Saunders on the schooner "Margaret" and landed at Cape Florida, which is on the southern end of Key Biscayne. The group climbed to the top of the Cape Florida Lighthouse, which had been replaced by a new lighthouse on Fowey Rocks in 1878 and was no longer operating. Cape Florida is now preserved as the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.
