Robert Dean

Robert Dean is listed in the Expedition record with a residence in Fort Myers, Florida. There are census and other records listing a Robert Dean living in Lee County in 1890. Other sources list a Robert Dean who was member of the Fort Myers Yacht and Country Club in 1908. Also listed is a T.R. Dean, Jr. who was living in Hernando County in 1880-1885, and there is a Thaddius Richard Dean, Jr. who is buried in Polk County. It is unclear if any of these are the same Robert Dean who participated in the Expedition. Dean's age is unknown at the time of the Expedition. He was assigned to Mess No. 2.

Note about confidence of this information:

Unable to locate sources definitively identifying the Robert Dean who participated in the Expedition. Although some census and other records list a Robert Dean or a T.R. Dean, Jr. living in Fort Myers and Southwest Florida, confidence is fairly low that these are the same individuals.
