Emily B.

The "Emily B." was a three-masted, thirty ton schooner that regularly traveled along the Florida coast from Jacksonville to Key West, stopping at Miami, Lemon City, Jupiter, etc. It was also labeled a sharpie. Many of the Expedition party departed Miami on the "Emily B." returning to Port Tampa via Key West. The schooner was owned by Uri Dunning Hendrickson and operated by the Lake Worth and Jacksonville Transportation Company. Many early settlers in the Miami region, including Julia Tuttle, first arrived on the "Emily B." The schooner was later sunk in a storm near Key West in 1894.
