W.E. Gradick

At the time of the Expedition, W.E. (William Edwards) Gradick's residence was listed as Geneva, Florida, which is near Sanford. Census and other records list Gradick living in Jacksonville around 1903, and he worked in the wholesale cattle business with his brother and partner W.L. Gradick. He married Virginia H. Shipman on October 5, 1892, but she died in 1893. He married Laura M. Emmerson on May 19, 1896. He would have been 24-25 years old at the time of the Expedition. He was assigned to Mess No. 2.

Note about confidence of this information:

Unable to locate sources definitively identifying William Edwards Gradick as the W.E. Gradick who participated in the Expedition. However, given that William Edwards Gradick married Virginia H. Shipman, who is buried in Geneva, Florida, confidence is high.
