Indian Key

When Ingraham and party visited the Florida Fiber Company plantation on Middle River, C.G. Phillips told them that the sisal hemp plants were from Indian Key. This island is part of the Florida Keys and was occupied for much of the 19th century. It became uninhabited in the early 1900s and is now Indian Key Historic State Park.
