Island No. 4

The individuals who camped on Island No. 4 were J.W. Newman, J.E. Ingraham, S.O. Chase, and W.R. Moses, along with their Seminole guide, Billy Harney. On April 5 this small group reached Miami, so this was their last camp on their eastward path. Ingraham referred to Island No. 4 as "camp #21" in his diary, but the Expedition record does not designate this with a camp number, probably because the Expedition party had split on April 4 with the majority staying behind as a secondary group following on foot. He may have been counting camp #20 as the camp that the secondary group had made near Billy Harney's homestead before the groups had split.

Geographic Location: Unknown how many miles from Camp No. 18 or the secondary group's camp near Billy Harney's homestead.

Camp Established: April 4, Monday

Camp Departure: April 5, Tuesday
