Little River

Lemon City was a pioneer community on Biscayne Bay in the late 1800s and early 1900s that was located near three rivers: Little River, Arch Creek and Snake Creek. When visiting Lemon City, Ingraham and party encountered William Freeman, who was an early settler on Little River, about a mile north of Lemon City. The settlements at Little River became a small town in the early 20th Century which later was annexed by the city of Miami in 1925. Little River's present day location is in northern Miami at Little Haiti.
