Fort Myers Post Office

The Expedition party established their first camp, Camp No. 1, in Fort Myers, on the outskirts of the town about one mile southeast of the post office. W.M. Hendry was the first postmaster in 1876, and the post office was located in his store on the northeast corner of First Street and Hendry Street.
