Narrows Cut

The Expedition party sailed on the schooner "Margaret" to visit Cape Florida and afterwards landed on the south side of Narrows Cut, which is Virginia Key. Narrows Cut, or Norris Cut, is an inlet separating Virginia Key from what is now Fisher Island at the south end of Miami Beach. Hurricanes in 1835 and 1838 opened this inlet into Biscayne Bay north of Key Biscayne.
