Camp No. 8: Island No. 23

They reached the camp after sunset. They had lit fires to try to burn the sawgrass barring their way. Island No. 23 is described as having rich, tropical growth. It had been used by the Seminoles as a camping ground and there were signs of previous cultivation.

Geographic Location: From 2.5 miles to 7 miles from Camp No. 7.

Camp Established: March 23, Wednesday

Camp Departure: March 24, Thursday
