C.G. Phillips

While at the Fort Lauderdale House of Refuge at New River the Expedition party met C.G. Phillips, a young man in charge of the Florida Fiber Company's sisal hemp plantation on Middle River. The group visited the Middle River farm on April 13 in the company of the young man, who was either named "C.G." or "C.C." Phillips. He also was identified as the cousin of A.J. Phillips of Sanford.
