The Expedition party primarily followed a course to the east or southeast as they traveled from Fort Myers to Miami across the Everglades. The Expedition texts occasionally provide specific bearings, such as on April 1 when James Ingraham notes that they followed a course of South 8. This is probably an error in his diary.
