Robert W. Southwick

Robert W. Southwick was the Key West agent for the Plant Steam Ship Line. The Expedition party relied on Southwick to transport their belongings from Fort Myers to Miami in March, and to arrange transportation for the men returning home from Miami via Key West. Census and other records show that Southwick boarded in Key West in the 1890s through 1910. He played a small role in the Spanish American War of 1898, overseeing scheduling of the Plant System ships involved in supporting the war.
