Steamship St. Sebastian

Paddle steamboat St. Sebastian at pier - Rockledge; source: State Archives of Florida, Florida MemoryThe Expedition party left Jupiter heading north for Titusville traveling aboard the steamship "St. Sebastian" under the command of Captain G.J. Mercier. The steamer was operated by the Indian River Steamboat Company, and later was purchased by the Indian River and Bay Biscayne Inland Navigation Company. The "St. Sebastian" and her sister steamboats such as the "St. Augustine" traveled regular schedules on the Indian River, making stops at towns such as Rockledge.
