W.M. Wilson

It is possible W.M. Wilson is the William Maynard Wilson who lived most of his life in Fort Myers and the community of Olga, Florida, which is to the east of Fort Myers. W.M. Wilson's residence is listed in the Expedition record as Fort Myers. Wilson's age is unknown at the time of the Expedition, but if it is William Maynard Wilson then his age would have been 31. He was assigned to Mess No. 2. Following their arrival in Miami, J.W. Newman, hired Wilson and D.M. Baker to complete the survey line that had been abandoned.

Note about confidence of this information:

Unable to locate sources definitively identifying William Maynard Wilson as the W.M. Wilson who participated in the Expedition. Some records list William Maynard Wilson living in Fort Myers or Olga throughout his life, so confidence is fairly high.
