Series 39 contains contracts
for the purchase or sale of raw sugars. Contracts for sugars purchased
through the company's Cuban subsidiaries, the Cuban Trading Company and
the Latin American Trading Company, are not found here but in series 75.
Purchase contracts in series 39 originated with other brokers and are usually
for Phillipine and Puerto Rican sugars. The sales contracts are for
sugars sold by Czarnikow-Rionda to other brokers or to refiners.
Letters and cables regarding the transactions often accompany the contracts.
The volume numbers are the orginal numbers and begin with volume 39.
