Series 53 documents
the construction of a wallboard factory at the Central Francisco. Compañía
Cubana Primadera was created with assistance from the Export-Import Bank
to utilize cane bagasse in the production of wallboard. The company had
been in business only briefly when its assets were seized by the Cuban
government.
The series contains
records on the company's organization, the erection of the plant, production
costs, and early difficulties in the initial production stage. Also included
in the series are several reports on similar projects in Peru and Puerto
Rico.
