| Front: In the Devil's Millhopper Alachua Co Fla
Reverse: The view and ferns and flowers about us and the songs of birds and the music of falling water lulled me to sleep after a long walk through a lonesome piney woods. We are sitting on the rocks and the background immediately above us is of the same--some 30 or 90 feet ch[?] back. The "sink" known as the Devil's Mill Hopper may have occured half a century ago and is variously estimated at from 120 to 200 feet deep depending upon whether the one to whom you are describing it will [illegible] it or not. The sink includes perhaps 3 acres of ground and in going down appears to have broken off a number of underground streams [?] ([extremely?] numerous here) and these streams make up near a dozen rippling splashing falls that [illegible] themselves into a pool at the bottom. |
