Notes: "This press takes its name from the oak trees on the premises, quercus being latin for oak tree. It had its origins in the late thirties when printing was started on two handpresses. One was an Albion that had been used by William Morris for proofing. The other, shipped from Austria in the 1840's, had been used earlier in Columbia, in the California gold mining district, to print a weekly paper." © James Lamar Weygand | |||
