- General study areas, some talking allowed.
- First, second, and third floors.
- Silent individual study areas.
- Fourth floor. The sixth floor is reserved for graduate students.
- Sixth floor
- Reserved for enrolled UF graduate students (does not include non-UF graduate students or undergraduate or postbaccalaureate students taking graduate-level courses).
- Group studies
- Seventeen general group studies provide space for collaborative work for groups of up to ten persons. They may be signed out at the circulation desk on the second floor. See policy at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/ps/circ/studyroompolicy.html.
- One 10-person group study room is equipped for teleconferences.
- Two group studies are equipped with specialized ADA and digital media equipment. They may be signed out at the research assistance desk on the third floor.

Individual graduate and faculty studies
- Eighty-four graduate studies are available on the 2nd and 4th floors of Library West. They are assigned for the academic year by a lottery of eligible applicants who have applied using our online form.. See policy at http://web.uflib.ufl.edu/ps/Circ/graduatestudypolicies.html.

- Study carrels
- Located on the fourth and fifth floors, a limited number of carrel spaces, including a small locker, are assigned to graduate students through a lottery. Graduate students in the sciences may apply.
Applications are available at the circulation desk. Assignments are for one semester and may be extended for additional semesters if space is available.
