Committee Charge (December
The PSPC OPAC Subcommittee
is charged with helping design the ALEPH Web OPAC user interface to be
implemented throughout the State University Libraries (SUL). The group
will work with FCLA staff to explore options provided by Ex Libris in the
ALEPH system, define optimal alternatives, solicit broad feedback from
the SUL, and implement decisions. Will also participate as needed in identifying
ideas for desired enhancements to be submitted to Ex Libris for possible
SUL Web OPAC interface decisions
will be affected by 1) the reality that unlike the FCLA-developed WebLUIS
interface, FCLA programming to enhance the interface beyond what is provided
by Ex Libris may need to be more limited, and 2) the expectation that there
will be a good deal of interface continuity maintained throughout the SUL,
with the separate Community Colleges (CC) OPAC ALEPH interface, and with
the joint SUL/CC union catalog (to be implemented in the future).
