Original identification: (Joseph Ewan) Garberia fruticosa (Nutt.) A. Gray Re-determination by Kent Perkins (KP) or J. Richard Abbott (JRA): ! Garberia heterophylla (W. Bartram) Merr. & F. Harper (Asteraceae); Ewan's name is a synonym. with Bartram being the parenthetical authority, it is entirely possible that this specimen was part of the material he used in naming this species (in a different genus). the implications of this possibly being type material should be explored. |
