The Progress Center represents a partnership between industry and one of the great universities.  Marshall Criser, president of the University of Florida, says that a university must be of service to the state and to its business community and through Progress Center this has become a reality.  The various academic programs in the sciences, health, and agriculture are cited.  Mention is made of the funding resources available to UF.  However, the best resource is found in the students at the university and its merit scholars.  Many positive things are mentioned about the sports and cultural activities at UF, the attractiveness of the small town atmosphere of Gainesville, and its location near fine beaches and attractions such as Disney World.  Representatives of Nationwide Insurance (Don Clauson) and Bear Archery (Charles Smith) cite other advantages to the location.
