Supplement from the Rare Book Collection

The following are a few selected titles from the Rare Book Collection, dating from before 1900. They are arranged under very loose headings and chronologically from the most recent to the oldest. Pay particular attention to the subject headings and the call numbers. A difficulty in searching for African material in the Rare Book Collection is that it is scattered throughout and can be difficult to locate by any one method. The cataloging may not be consistent; note that there are no subject headings assigned to the 1753 Houston volume under Description & travel, nor for the biography of Sancho. Keyword searching is strongly recommended, as is using date and library location limits.
