N.L. Langford's nephew, Thomas E. Haskew, accompanied the Expedition party from Fort Myers to Fort Shackleford. Haskew was responsible for a two-horse team, which was owned by Langford. Langford's sister, Caroline, was married to John Townsend Haskew, a founder of Fort Myers. N.L. Langford was one of the first county officials for the newly formed Lee County (1887).
