1892 Everglades Exploration Expedition : Three Digital Texts

Expedition Photographs Taken by Sydney O. Chase

Sydney O. Chase took several photographs with his Kodak camera throughout the duration of the Expedition. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the camera, the film, and/or the development of the film because all of the images are blurry. The thumbnail images below are links to the scanned prints found in the Chase Collection at the University of Florida. A number is included as part of the caption on the verso of each print, but these numbers do not appear to be in a logical sequence based on chronology or subject matter. Even though most of the photographs are undated, an attempt has been made to put these in the correct date order based on the subjects portrayed. An inventory of the prints found in the Chase Collection lists 60 photos, but only 57 prints are extant. The captions for the missing three prints (#2, #6 and #13) are provided below as well.
