Notes: "Re-established in Cincinnati in 1921, after lying dormant for nearly 6 years, Stratford Press acquired a new device. It was first a stock cut of an open book, with the Latin phrase Fumo in Lucem (from darkness to light), taken from an ancient 16th century printers mark. In its present form, designed by Elmer Gleason, it was first used in 1942." © James Lamar Weygand
